Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) was introduced for cosmetic application about 20 years ago. Unlike lasers which emit coherent light at specific wavelengths, IPL devices emit lights over a broad spectrum and multiple wavelengths. IPL can be used for the following applications:

Hair Removal: IPL is commonly used for hair removal treatments. The intense light is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicles, leading to their destruction and subsequent reduction in hair growth. At Telma Medical our primary machine for hair removal is a laser machine. So we do not use IPL for hair removal unless the client asks for it.

Skin Rejuvenation: IPL can address skin concerns such as sun damage, age spots, freckles, and redness. The light energy targets pigmented and vascular lesions, promoting a more even skin tone. This can be combined with other skin rejuvenation treatments we provide at Telma Medical
